Author Biography
Rachel Carson (1907-รป1964) is widely acknowledged to be America-'s greatest nature writer and one of the first environmentalists. Her three other books are the prophetic Silent Spring (1962), The Edge of the Sea (1956), and The Sea Around Us (1951).
Linda Lear is an environmental historian and biographer, and author of the prizewinning Rachel Carson: Witness for Nature and of Beatrix Potter: A Life in Nature.
