English Heritage Buildings won their spurs in the restoration of old beamed roofs and historic half-timbered houses. Thanks to this experience the company can respond quickly to the continually growing demand for new, comfortable structures with a traditional oak frame and softwood weatherboarding. Under the management of Peter Pollet and Koen Bouteligier English Heritage Buildings have set up an independent associated company to launch these buildings on the continent as well. The author, Ivo Pauwels tells the story of this centuries-old building technique and brings back the forgotten knowledge of the materials of roof trusses, pantiles, thatch, softwood and oak.
