Summary

“ A gripping tale of family, legacy, and land rights in which a father fights for control over his Oregon homestead.” — Maryka Biaggio, Award-winning author of Parlor Games and The Model Spy In the third novel by Foreword Indies Book of the Year Award-winning author, Micah Thorp, Oregon homesteader and lumberman Don Karlsson finds himself engulfed in conflict, both in his tight-knit community and within his own family, when a new, possibly endangered species of vole is discovered in his trees. As local businesses, environmentalists, and infiltrators seeking profit clash, the estranged Karlsson siblings must face the challenge to their father’ s livelihood and try to finally reconcile their beloved mother’ s untimely death. Aegolius Creek leaves readers contemplating our ties to place and family, how we strive for worth and meaning, and ultimately, what— if anything— we can claim as our own.
